Phoebe Stone (b.1987, Sydney Australia) is a Sydney-based artist working on Cammeraygal land. Known for her expressive depictions of domestic life, she has exhibited in numerous group and solo shows and is represented in private collections both in Australia and internationally.
Stone’s work is defined by her exploration of composition, colour, pattern, and texture. With her expressive, urgent and intuitive mark making she renders the intimate and the everyday—scenes of food, household objects, and the quiet details of daily life. For Stone the act of creating is as significant as the finished piece, a meditative process of translating feeling and memory into form, underpinned by a desire to hold onto beauty and fleeting experience.
